I entered Occasions Magazine Thanksgiving Tablescape contest and I took the non-traditional approach with my decor, or at least I tried to. I wanted to do something that was more real and nothing set in a ballroom type of place. I chose to do it in a home and treat the table as if I was serving my own dinner at my own table, as entertaining and cooking is something that I love to do.
I was inspired by the first Thankgiving and the harvest that came with it. People had to work hard for the food that they put on their tables and they were grateful. I wanted to incorporate some of those things into my tablescape and pay a small tribute. I even included a feather in my floral arrangement to represent the turkey. I hope you like!
